Great park but it needs more care. Lots to do in the area. Not all sites are full hookups so take care when reserving.

Nice park. Good location. Leaves need to be cleaned up. Rough streets going into the park and in the park. Need repaving

As far as the park accommodations were concerned, our stay was great. We were lucky enough to get a sewer site, which always makes the stay (and departure) easier. Unfortunately, being there in February was not really conducive to many outdoor activities, but we were able to spend quality time with our other camping-club buddies who were also there.

My mistake I booked a nonFHU site, camp host could not make a change because money was involved, told me to call an 800 number, lady who answered would not make the change because I was already at the CG, told me I would have to see the camp host?

We had a beautiful campsite on the water at the Dewayne Hayes Campground. It was a full hook up, pull through site. We were just passing through and only stayed one night but made a note that we'd definitely like to come back for a long stay in the future. From the traveling we've done with our Class C motorhome, we've found that we really like the Corps of Engineer campgrounds so much more than commercial campgrounds. They are usually a little off the beaten path in an area with a lake or river. The sites a larger and a lot more quiet than what we've had at commercial sites, and with our senior lifetime pass we just can't beat the price anywhere else. The only problem we've encountered at some COE campgrounds is poor cell reception for our hotspot, but we didn't have that problem at the Dewayne Hayes Campground. Since we were only there one night, we didn't use any of the other facilities that were available.

It was mostly quiet. There was only 10 or so other campers the entire two weeks we were there. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to returning when we're back in the area.
