WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LAKE? there is no lake here. It's been drawn down for maintenance apparently??? For the next 5 years??? I HAD been planning to bring my my boat luckily I didn't; nor waste the money on fuel hauling it down here... from ILLINOIS. Where was the alert on that? We chose this campground because of the lake and no other reason. We drove 8 hours to get here. Even though we didn't bring our boat we were planning to spend the majority of our time fishing and swimming.
Oh, the rooster that crows at dawn? Seriously? What the damn hell? Who wants to get up that early on vacation? A rooster crowed at about 6:00-6:15 every morning. Not an issue really, unless it's 3 am before getting in, or if you brought 4-legged barky friends. Thankfully I've got 2 chicken chasers who did wonderful at their new job. Didn't hurt him but scared him off.
VERIZON USERS NO CELL SERVICE. Where was the alert? So many reasons why cell service is needed ie. Emergencies at home or emergencies at the campground.
The site 001 is 50/50. While it seems other sites were good to go in this aspect the fire ring is located on the working side of the site. The picnic table and built-in grill are on the complete opposite side and about 8' lower than the pad. To make maters worse the fire ring is located approximately 5' from the sewer inlet, Yuck! It doesn't smell but it's the mere point. This is not where I want to have a relaxing campfire. Also, inside the fire ring was melted building materials; as if somebody had burnt trash here.
A+ BATHROOMS; SHOWERS AND STALLS ARE AIR-CONDITIONED. Shower heads are nice plenty of hot water. Bathrooms are clean unfortunately no soap dispensers for hand washing; just a hand drier, mold and mildew growing on shower curtains which are held in place by zip-ties.
Grounds are clean and well kept and the staff answering the phone was awesome and very accommodating. Unfortunately however, we're asking for a refund and we won't be back.

Lake is no longer there, there is a thin river in its place. Because of this there is no access to what used to be the beach or lakefront. Very quiet. Bathroom clean but dated. No check in, just drive to the site. Most sites are full hook up.

Dog feces and beer bottle caps on our site 18 when we arrived had a negative influence on our appreciation for this place. Campground has good potential, but needs attention to detail by staff. And needs staff, too, as none appeared to be present during our stay, although the bath houses were clean.
