Hernando Point Campground offers a charming escape with spacious, clean sites and beautiful views, especially along the river. Many guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, well-maintained facilities, and the friendly staff, making it a great spot for families and RV owners. Very hard to get Park Ranger on phone. Park Rangers didn’t visit park very often. Multiple campers tried calling. Finally called Sheriff’s Office to get Ranger to call us. Said they were sending a Park Ranger. They never showed. Neighbor had 6 yapping dogs in a small enclosure. Was miserable and ready to leave early.

It was a nice campground. We were right on the bank on what’s supposed to have been a lake. It was dried up so no fishing and no water. No one works at park so you can’t get in touch with anyone at all. No one to call. It just goes to answering machine that tells you to call 911. Could not call to tell them that the 6 dogs at this guy had was barking from daylight to dark every day. I mean all 4 day we were there. People just pulled in and set up all times of the day and left when ever you wanted to. It was like show up when ever you want.

Great campground with full hookups. Unfortunately dam still needs repair so lake is now just a river. Handle all reservations online. Did not see any staff, but was a County Sheriff staying out there.
Previous campers left trash in firepit and in the woods. Picked up large bag of just trash. Might have done more but dumpster was full. Will come back, especially if they are able to fill the lake,

it's gotten better over the past year...used to be a scary place. I'm not sure what the 2 hosts do...I never see them do anything (sweet gig they got)

Nice time! Enjoyed our site 6 under the eagles nest. Great watching them in the sky. Disappointed that the lake was low/drained. Bathrooms were clean with hot water. Enjoyed walking the loops in the campground.

There were lots of off road vehicles and shooting range noise this time, even after dark. We have stayed here a few times, but this is the first time we have noticed the sound. Campsite was clean, bathhouse was always stocked. Beautiful views of the drained lake and eagle nest.
