Hernando Point didn’t disappoint. Quite and orderly the spaces for camping were well appointed and clean. Didn’t use the bathhouses but they seemed cared for. The rubbish bin needed emptying badly but aside that a great time. Also mpb tv is all 5 channels limited. Cel service is almost nonexistent. Lake view is a plus.

Driving through Mississippi on a trip. Looked on line and found this campground near my location so I reserved online. Drove to the campground and it was a great place to visit. Nice, up up to date facilities, quite, and on a lake. Will return. 5 stars.

Nice lake and campsite #5 was level with afternoon shade. We and our neighbors had ants overrun us; they moved to another campsite. The water didn’t work at our site but we had onboard water so it wasn’t a problem for us because we only stayed for 2 nights.

Campsite 7 was OK and had a view of the lake. It was cement, we had shade. While wide enough for the RV we stepped out onto the hill. We had an ant infestation, day they crawled up the water hose and into the RV. The next morning we had been infested with gnats. Still don’t know how they got in but they were dead. It was a different camping experience

From I-55, take the Hernando, Mississippi exit and turn west. Continue to to HWY 51 and turn south. Turn west on Wheeler Road and follow signs into campground.
Hernando Point Campground is accessible from I-55 via the Hernando exit, approximately 2 miles away. From I-55, travelers can reach HWY 51, which is also nearby.

General
- Visitors are expected to be aware of park general rules
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reminds all visitors that coast guard approved personal floatation device is required when conducting activities on or in the waters of Arkabutla Lake. These activities include but are not limited to swimming, waterskiing, riding on personal watercraft, kayaking, and other boating related activities. If vessel is under 16 feet in length a PFD is mandatory at all times. If vessel is over 16 feet in length, PFDs are only required while making way under main propulsion.
