Hernando Point Campground

Very beautiful campground. The sites are huge compared to alot that I've stayed at. Only issue I have is the interactive campground map that we used for reservation is not accurate. We chose site 38 because it seems secluded and near the water...it's not. I should've looked into that further...so my bad. Will definitely visit again.

The campground is beautiful and the hosts are awesome. No fault of rec.gov or the campground, when we arrived there was someone on our site we had reserved. They said when they arrived the previous day, someone was on their site and a ‘lady’ on the phone told them to take the next available site. Well, our site was empty at the time but it was not available. The camp hosts, Phil & Jack, were 100% but we didn’t want to push the issue due to the fact the lady on our site was irate. We were offered another campsite but we chose to go eat and return home and plan for another day (we live in the area). We were given a complete refund. We look forward to returning to the campground and spending the night 😊

Great campground. We set up a tent on site 40 and it was perfect. Clean bathrooms, although there was no soap so bring your own.

Very nice campsites, level pads. Very very clean bathhouses nice hot water. Gorgeous sunsets on the lake. Really pleasant stay. Hookups are are new ! We were in spot 23. Not shady, but most other spots are, and trees hadn’t come out yet so no problem

We were at Site 33 and it was very nice. My only complaint was the distance from the pad to the dump station; at least 20 feet. The site has lots of poison ivy too.

This park has the potential to be a prime property, but it needs a little work. Many campsites need drainage work, though site 29, which we occupied, was very nice. They did just invest in sewer at all of the sites, so maybe they have more planned. Very convenient to Memphis attractions.

Hernando point is a great place to stay no complaints there. BUT on the other hand kandi is out of control. She definitely lets that simple badge go to her head. Park rangers are not allowed to carry firearms but everytime I’ve seen her or she’d pull up to our spot with something to say (like my tow truck being parked) she had a glock on her side. EXTREMELY RUDE AND HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL. Never have I caused problems at these grounds but got treated like dirt by her within the first two seconds of her talking. Cussing at me and my family yelling at my 3 year old for running around us and the rv LIKE ANY CHILD WOULD BE DOING. I’m going to the top of the command to get her fired if that doesn’t work I’ll push petition after petition until she’s gone she made the entire experience horrible.
