I love the upgrades that have been done to Hernando Point Campground. We stayed in site 18 which has a nice water view, plenty of room at the back of the camper where the picnic table and grill are located. Each site has a light on at the hook-up area that's great for those late arrivals. Restrooms were nice. You can't reach the water from this camp site but, there is a boat ramp as your enter the park with plenty of parking, a day use area with plenty of picnic tables and a beach area (looks like they were working on it).

Sites were a bit close together, and information was hard to find once we arrived. As there was no host, a posted campground map would have been helpful (no cell service to pull one up online). Some signage indicating that the campground was unhosted would have also been helpful.

This is our main layover for our trip south. We love how quiet and peaceful it is. The staff are always friendly. The facilities are always clean and up-to-date. We will be stopping here on our way up north come spring time.

There is no campground host and we only saw a ranger occasionally when they drove through. Water pressure was a little low but useable.

The power went out on two separate occasions, and it was out for 2 days. I had booked an additional two weeks, and a ranger showed up the day I was to move to a different site to say I couldn’t do so. This happened on a Sunday. Y’all had 2 weeks to advise me of this, and didn’t until I was to leave to a different numbered site in 2 hours. This left me with nowhere to go with my two children. We will not be returning.
