What Guests Are Saying
Hernando Point Campground offers a charming escape with spacious, clean sites and beautiful views, especially along the river. Many guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, well-maintained facilities, and the friendly staff, making it a great spot for families and RV owners. While the lake is currently dry due to repairs, visitors still enjoy outdoor activities like walking and fishing in the pond, and they look forward to future improvements.

This was our first night ever in our 'new to us' Winnebago Micro Minni RV. As a matter of fact it was our first time ever setting up an RV camper. The facilities and spot were easy to find and easy to connect to. Site 58 was level enough that we didn't have to do anything to level our camper.
It was a very good first experience.

Hernando point is a nice, well maintained campground. There are 3 bath houses strategically located, that are kept warm in the winter. Cell reception varies throughout the park from no reception to 4 bars, depending upon the location. Some of the sites get very soggy in wet weather. Fortunately, I was not in one of them. The one thing that I do not like is all the lighting. There are several bright street lights and a light on the power hub of each site. They make it so you can not turn that light off. I come to camp to be in nature, not to feel like I am in the city.

We love Army Core Of Engineering campgrounds. This one did not disappoint. The campsite was large and clean and best of all overlooked the water. It was very quiet at night and overall a very pleasant stay.

I love the upgrades that have been done to Hernando Point Campground. We stayed in site 18 which has a nice water view, plenty of room at the back of the camper where the picnic table and grill are located. Each site has a light on at the hook-up area that's great for those late arrivals. Restrooms were nice. You can't reach the water from this camp site but, there is a boat ramp as your enter the park with plenty of parking, a day use area with plenty of picnic tables and a beach area (looks like they were working on it).

Sites were a bit close together, and information was hard to find once we arrived. As there was no host, a posted campground map would have been helpful (no cell service to pull one up online). Some signage indicating that the campground was unhosted would have also been helpful.
