Many boat ramps are currently closed with Hwy. 51 Landing being the only open ramp. Most day use and campground facilities remain open for public use. Campsite #81 was extremely clean and nice. The playground and bathrooms were right next to the sight and was big plus for us. The only negative thing I can say is the bright white lights by the bathroom, it made our site feel like we were in the middle of the day at night.

My family experienced having a great time camping here at the Hernando Point Campgrounds. And we can’t wait to do it again next year.

There was a family reunion at the campground with every site taken. They had 2 full size catering tents set up, rap music playing full blast, and riding up and down the streets pulling trailer loads of people. I called the number to ask for assistance because they woukd not move while we were driving our camper in and laughing at us as we waited for them to move. Nothing was done and no one called me back. I just kept on driving and left.. I hate that because it is usually a very good place to camp.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reminds all visitors that coast guard approved personal floatation device is required when conducting activities on or in the waters of Arkabutla Lake. These activities include but are not limited to swimming, waterskiing, riding on personal watercraft, kayaking, and other boating related activities. If vessel is under 16 feet in length a PFD is mandatory at all times. If vessel is over 16 feet in length, PFDs are only required while making way under main propulsion. |
