Sites mostly level and campground was clean. Yappy dog was annoying.

We had a great 2-night stay at Piney Grove. We have two small kids and they had a blast. They liked climbing through the trees and looking for sticks, and there was room to kick a ball on the beach even though it was too cold to swim. There was also a playground at the campsite. 20 minutes away was the John Whitten Lock and Dam Museum. It was the tiniest little museum, but it was free, the woman working there was so nice, and the kids got to see bones and turtle shells and canal models.
We came from the north (Hwy 30) and there was a little one-stop shop that had gas and snacks. It probably also had firewood, but we didn't need to buy any because there was lots of fallen deadwood around our campsite.

We stayed during a cold and stormy weekend but the host was friendly and the camp was well kept

Pros: Host was amazing, huge, well spaced out sites, clean, but dated bathhouse, with sink(woman's side only)for doing dishes. Cons: Out in the middle of nowhere. Make sure you are well stocked up before getting into area. Cell service is spotty & only 3 TV channels...all PBS. Would defiantly return, if in area.

This was an overnight stop while we were traveling the Natchez Trace. The spots were gravel and concrete, level, and had nice spacing. The laundry facility designation needs to be removed. We were told it never reopened after COVID. We would stay here again.

The one staff we met was a “cut above”….in appreciation I gave him a loaf of pumpkin bread. He was often seen driving about and thoroughly clean and blew off each site before a new camper came in to stay.
Campground was well kept.
