We had a beautiful campsite we could see the lake clearly almost all around us walked across the road to swim we had a lot of privacy. We had cell signal most of the time. The only thing I was dissatisfied with was the bathrooms. Disgusting bathrooms with no soap or flushing toilets. The main bathroom shower area had showers and flushing toilets but it was kind of outdated one shower wouldn't even lock and you couldnt control the water temeperate with little kids that wasnt fun. Also no soap and the bathrooms were kind of dirty. But other than that great. I'd go back even though the bathrooms sucked it was worth it.

We enjoyed our stay at Ruark Bluff East. The campground was clean and shower house was well maintained. The staff was super helpful and very friendly. It was patrolled several times a day and night, making sure everyone was safe. Great place for families.

The lake is wonderful, the over all camping and facilities are poor. I would not return to this camp ground. Bathrooms were not maintained well. There were TONS of wasps and huge spiders in the bathrooms! They were not being cleaned regularly. The light in the vault toilet only worked for about 10 minutes after dark and it was nasty! They used water to "clean" it. The camp site was VERY small and there was ONE driveway for three sites that were too close together. Thankfully we were camping with family and got to use part of the site next to use. Lastly, the mosquitoes, gnats and ticks were REALLY bad. I picked off several ticks every night from my family. I understand it's camping but it doesn't seem like an pest control is done there. Overall, we were there for the lake which is very beautiful and clean! Great for a day trip, not so great for a weekend camping trip.

The site we intended to get had been damaged due to the floods, but found a good alternative higher up the hill. It is difficult to get down to the water at this site-lots of exercise climbing up and down, but it remains one of our favorite spots. There are lots of shade trees and no neighbors close by. We are looking forward to visiting Ruark East again this year whatever site we get and appreciate all the work involved to get the campground back in order.
