What Guests Are Saying
Baxter Campground is highly praised for its beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and clean restrooms, making it a favorite for many returning visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious sites, peaceful atmosphere, and helpful staff, contributing to a relaxing experience. Some concerns include maintenance issues and site access for larger RVs, but overall, guests express a strong desire to return.

Campsite 10 was a good location to the swimming area and also a area that was easy accessible for my handicapped situation to fish from the bank outside the swimming area but the upkeep of the grounds was poorly taking care of as the grass was extremely tall and caused as to walk through tall grass and made it very inconvenient trying to push a walker through it and also there was excessive flies we Believe due to the tall grass and may what may have been in the grass that we could not see and not enough bathrooms separated from showers if you had to go to the bathroom you had to wait on someone to get done with a shower rather than showers and bathroom to be separate don't know that I would like to go back. So all in all it wasn't real bad so it's a if iffy to come back and stay

Park really needed to be mowed as the grass was tall.

Site too narrow to get stairs on solid ground-retaining bricks stacked too high. Hosts had closed the entry station.
Called 800 #, got help from person on duty. She suggested we cancel reservation and get new reservation at Baxter. Did this.
Long story made shorter—paid for two nights on 4/7 (drove home 7/4 to calm down) Received 2 nights reimbursement on original reservation, could not get credit on new reservation for Lifetime Senior Discount due to being used for canceled original reservation.
No one cared, new person at 800# gave info that was faulty reference reimbursement.
Hosts gone for 3 days and were no assistance when returned.
Lack of concern or availability of person in authority at the time of need—not good.
The site was too narrow (Janitor, who was always working, said it was narrow) and We got overcharged.

We had excellent weather so our kids and grandkids were about to do a lot of boating and swinging off the ledge where the swing is. They can't wait til next year.

This is a great campground to stay at! The two couples that run the campground are wonderful! They are alway friendly, helpful and do an outstanding job running the campground! The reason I would rate it down a bit is they need to hire a new company to mow! When we arrived the grass in the campground was very long. We stayed 2 full weeks and in that time the grass was never mowed. We could not enjoy the grassy area around our campsite to play yard games and stuff because it was so long.

Very nice campground. Some sites a bit tight with retaining walls.
