What Guests Are Saying
Frank Russell campground is highly praised for its clean, spacious, and well-maintained sites, including level concrete pads with full hookups and ample room for privacy. Visitors appreciate the beautiful surroundings, well-kept trails, and facilities, making it a favorite for camping with horses and enjoying outdoor activities. While some noted issues like noise from neighboring sites and the need for more on-site staff, overall, guests express a strong desire to return and recommend the campground for a relaxing experience.

Very peaceful and quiet stay. Due to the slope I had to lower the front of my 30’ trailer all the way to the ground to the point it was bottomed out to find level (was still just shy but close enough), and also had to add 4” of blocks under the passenger side wheels. Thankfully I had 2 spare stabilizer buckets I could put under the feet of my steps to the rear door of my camper, or they would have been a foot shy of touching the ground even with the legs fully extended. Made climbing in and out a challenge otherwise it was a great stay. Virtually no signal here for AT&T.

The campsites were awesome, we enjoyed our stay overall. The only problem i can complain about is that it was almost 2 days into our week long stay before we were officially checked in, and we had to inquire about who to see and where to go, and that with our camp site reservation, came continued access to the boat launch area we had paid the $5 dollar day use fee, and when my wife went to the main building to officially check us in, they commented that they were short staffed, and didn't know that the volunteer camp host had left. Im sorry, but lack of planning on your part shouldn't constitute an added fee on my part. This situation says to me that the people the ac needs to get out and actually do what they are getting paid for.

We were in site 29. Nice shaded spot. Not a fan of the fire pits, they’re recessed down into the concrete pads. We had a huge fairly flat slab to park our class A RV on, but the ramp the driveway pretty steep.

The site we had was very steep and had a very hard time getting camper level from front to back. It was site circle 29 and the front tung of camper was on the ground and the back was so high had to have latter to get stuff off back of rack. I guess it was my fault for not looking closer when I booked it. But the picture didn’t show the slope. Other than that it was really a nice place to stay. The people that checked us in were great. The couple we were with had the same trouble. Maybe don’t let campers as long as ours book those sites.

The campground was very clean and quiet. I was in site 21. It was very difficult to level due to the fact that it’s slanted downhill. I will stop again.

Very spacious sites. Easy to get to and it’s close to Spalding beach if you want to get in the water.
