Alta campground is a great place to stay, with tall pine trees, a nearby river, and clean, accessible drinking water and toilets; but most importantly were the wonderful, kind, and friendly camp hosts, Karen and Chris. Also, it is a quiet place where you can relax and enjoy the surrounding environment.

Very nice, well-managed campground down a good paved road. Our reserved site was clearly marked and clean. Most sites were shaded by big trees, and many had good separation for privacy. On a Saturday night in August, it had a surprising number of available sites. Would recommend!!

The campground hosts made our camping experience the best, providing everything from manicured campsites to clean peppermint scented restrooms. Plus, the added benefit of sense detectors outside and inside the restrooms, which was a great convenience on those dark campground nights.
The hosts were friendly and kind and would welcome a variety of questions.
I would recommend the Alta campground to anyone seeking peace and quiet in a beautiful setting!

The camp hosts (Karen and Gordon) keep the camp so beautiful! Most hardworking hosts ever! Plenty of firewood available and beautiful setting along the river with lots of mature trees. No cell service, but an emergency phone is available at the entrance. Great quiet getaway!
