The campground hosts are very friendly and go above and beyond keeping the campground clean and the bathrooms oh so fresh. We love staying here.

I have camped at Forest Service campgrounds my whole life of 62 years. Alta is my favorite campground because of its cleanliness and design of the sites. The bathrooms are the best-smelling in the entire country. I have camped there every year over the last four years and plan to again this summer. The camp hosts are so welcoming and hospitable they make you feel like you are family. We circle the entire Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness on Side-by-Sides. An 800 mile trip over 8 days. This summer will be our fifth year and the highlight of our camping is Alta. Thanks for doing such a great job.

The hosts were terrible. Very unwelcoming....and forget it if you have a dog. I was there 2 years ago with a group of friends and there were no problems with the host at that time (a different host). Was so surprised at the deterioration of the environment that the new host made. Several people in our group had issues with this host and we saw several people drive in and park, then talk with the host and leave. Will not plan to stay there again.

Nice campground with large trees at some sites which offer great shade. Close to the creek. One of our group had issues with the camp hosts.
