Wade Lake (MT)

Beautiful! Clean, well kept campground.

This is a beautiful lake and campground. The day use area is very crowded and busy so if you do not have a lakeside campsite you have to battle the crowds. We were in spot 3 and had our own small beach area. The trail down to the water was a little steeper than I expected but we still managed it fine with paddle boards and a wagon. The site itself is smaller than the pictures look but we fit our big family with a pop up, truck and minivan well. Wade lake is absolutely breathtaking. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained.

Site 18: great size, well marked sites and rds. Close to the lake without being too close to other people or campsites. Went at the beginning of July and the weather was great. Lake was chilly but all the kids still got in and swam around. Would absolutely recommend and go again!

Wade Lake is such a beautiful place to visit!

The lake is great like usual, but this site is so close to another site that I would never recommend it to anyone. The spot for the tent is maybe 10 ft away from another site’s fire pit.

Quiet and beautiful. The lashes are stunning. The road into the campground was a bit washed out but we made it in with our smaller camper.

Wade Lake is spectacular, and the campground is well-maintained. The restrooms were clean and well stocked thanks to a great camp host. For the amount of usage, the area is quite clean, but unfortunately there are always neglectful visitors who leave garbage or broken beach toys laying around. We loved paddle boarding both Wade and Cliff lakes. The small town of Ennis is a great place to stop for lunch.

Can’t wait to go back.

We loved Wade lake. Though we arrived on a Sunday it was quite busy with day use people. It was hard to tell what normal noise was as there was heavy equipment operating and installing brand new pit toilets. The road in was dirt but well maintained. The camp sites we stayed in (7 & 9) both had ample shade. No cell service and the host did not sell firewood.

Incredibly hard to reserve a site and the weekend we're there, its a full construction zone. Heavy machinery, trucks in and out of campsites doing 5 point turns, terrible noise, and you get the picture. I am all for updates and improvements to the campsite. But close it for 1/2 the season and do the entire campsite all at once without interrupting a campers experience. The workers were actually great and really hustled to get the project done on Saturday, which we all SO appreciated. But whoever gave the OK to do work while campground is open should take their family out there to camp while the excavators are running. After making reservations 6 months out, it was a disappointing experience all around.
