What Guests Are Saying
Wade Lake is praised for its stunning beauty, serene atmosphere, and well-maintained campground, making it an excellent spot for family recreation and relaxation. Many visitors enjoyed activities like paddleboarding and canoeing, appreciating the clear waters and picturesque scenery. However, some campers faced challenges with the reservation system, limited space, and occasional noise from generators, though these did not overshadow the overall positive experience.

We enjoyed a quiet evening at Wade Lake. The camp spots were clean, along with the bathrooms. What a pleasant place to camp.

Gorgeous lake less than an hour west of Yellowstone. Spent two nights camping there -- the first was spent paddleboarding on the lake and the second was spent at Yellowstone National Park. The area is very clean and rustic -- an excellent weekend getaway! The rates are also very reasonable at $15 a night for ordinary camping. The lakes themselves are super clean, as you can see right through the water on the shallow and deeper parts. It's an interesting area to hang out in too: it's sort of in a wooded valley that you don't see until you get close to it.

The lake is amazing. I love this place so much. But the flies were ridiculous. I get it, it’s camping, but I have NEVER been bitten by so many flies in my entire life. It made the experience so awful I left a night early to get away from all the flies. I went through 2.5 cans of bug spray in 2 days. I also had a citronella candle burning. Nothing helped keep them away. Super disappointed because I was so excited to camp here and I probably won’t camp here again.

The site was quite narrow for two vehicles and not flat ground at all for a tent

Stunning lake, but extremely busy with day users, so if you’re looking for a quiet campground on a quaint lake, this isn’t the one.

We booked our camp site, #10 on the recreation.gov website and chose a site still available that was closest to the lake. #10 is not close to the lake and is across from the Camp Host. The Camp Host runs his generator making it challenging to enjoy the serenity of camping. There is not a toilet near #10. When we arrived, there were other sites empty and closer to the lake. The next morning, these sites were still not occupied meaning that the individuals who had reserved them were, "no-shows." According to recreation.gov, the camp host is supposed to report all no-shows immediately and after several no-shows on an individuals account, their reservation capabilities will be revoked. I found out that the camp host has not been reporting these no-shows to recreation.gov. Very frustrating.
