I was unable to make my reservation on the website. It was totally frozen and could not be accessed until later in the day. So I called the reservation phone number, having to dial 364 times in a row to get through busy line signals and get into the phone cue. Then I sat on hold for well over 2 hours, hearing a recording telling me at the onset my wait time was 1 hour and 25 minutes, which was repeated in 10 min intervals with the same exact wait time (no deduction for each 10 minute interval waited). By the time I finally got through to speak to a live reservation agent, I had been on the phone for almost 3 hours considering the 364 dialing attempts to get through. I was NOT a very happy customer. The reservation agent was very attentive and was helpful in getting the campsites I needed booked and I was very relieved as my entire summer's trip to Canada evolved around making this reservation. In the end, I definitely say that huge improvements in both the on line reservation website access needs expansion to handle the overload of demand for customer's use AND your phone lines need to be greatly expanded to accommodate such an influx of callers. Either that or figure a better way of opening the summer season's reservation system. It needs much better planning!

We love going to Fort Peck, and will continue to go there for many years. But there were a few issues the last time we camped there that could have been handled better by management. In 2019, there were new managers to the campground. When we arrived we booked a second campsite and paid for it, only to realize several hours later that it was previously booked. When trying to find another campsite, the female manager was very unwilling to help. She even refused to give us a refund of the site that she had overbooked.
I have camped at downstream many times since I was a young girl and never have I seen cactus so bad. We had to be very aware of where our kids were and making sure that they weren’t stepping on a pile of cactus. It was also hard to find a spot to put our tent that there wasn’t cactus on. Cactus can be dangerous and it’s fairly easy to get rid of early in the season.
