Campsites along the creek are great, but they go fast. We were lucky to find #3 open, it is wonderful, wooded and peaceful with a view of the hillside behind the creek. We did 3 days of hiking and enjoyed them all: Silver Run near the camground, Lake Fork a few miles south, and West Fork at the end of the road.

This was our first time camping at Basin. We decided to go a day early and spent the first night at a first come first serve site. The next two night were spent at the site we reserved along the river. It was beautiful. The camp hosts are friendly. The campground was clean.

Basin is always a solid bet. It was my very first camping experience (#19) with a Little Guy Rascal, and this was my third year.
Clean, well manicured, shaded and the bathrooms even had magazines to read. The camp hosts are friendly and keep an eye on things, but not so closely it was uncomfortable. This year, even though I have a bigger, contained camper and in #21(?), my buddy still trekked over to the bathrooms so he could finish reading an article :) .
Highly recommend!
