Here’s everything:
A group of friends and I stayed at Swan Lake Campground for 4 nights/5 days. Before booking this campsite, I wish I would have known these pros and cons.
Pros:
✅ Clean campsite
✅ Firewood available on site ($6 per bundle)
✅ Approx. 1 hour from Glacier NP
✅ Beautiful lake nearby
✅ Phone service available 1 mile up the road
Cons:
❌ No showers on site. I knew this from the camp information, BUT I figured there would be options in a nearby town. There is not. Showers are available at the Swan lake Resort but for $10 per person. I wish there was a more economical option.
❌ No sinks to wash hands or dishes. Not ideal for tent camping. When asked where we should wash dishes, camp host said to throw the water out in the woods.
❌ The vault toilets STINK. I know this isn’t something that can be helped at a campground like this, but it needed to be mentioned haha.
❌ The sites are not on the water, but rather across the highway. It is advertised as having kayak/canoe rentals available but the kiosk was not staffed and there was hardly anybody on the lake. Some people who towed boats their own in were there.
Overall: while we did have a fun time camping, this is not a campground I would recommend for tents. This is much more set up for RV or trailers. There were no other tents in the area aside from ours while we were there. There were, however, plenty of RVs. I do not think this should be advertised for tent camping as there are little to no amenities. This is not a campground for people who like a laid back camping trip.

The camp hosts were absolutely lovely and made sure we settled in okay! We booked site 24 and sleeping to the sounds of the rushing river was so wonderful. The site is large and deep, the second camp host has firewood for sale (odd price of $6 since I didn’t have any single bills) but the fire ring did its job keeping the biting bugs away and the picnic table was huge! We will definitely be back after the summer heat and maybe bring our RV next time. Day use across the street was also wonderful and included for staying at the park.

Nice campground, very large asphalt topped camp sites. Only downside is busy road to cross to get to the lake (which is beautiful). People like to drive fast on this road and in this area in general, which is a shame. The other point of note is that we reserved in advance and yet our site was not noted as reserved.

Swan lake campground is the best maintained campground I have been to. Hosts made stands this spring for the bathrooms and they keep air fresheners in them and they are regularly cleaned. Overall a. Wonderful place to stay!

We were only there for one night but it was perfect except for not having a dump station. It was: Very clean, a nice setting with campsites separated well and even a paved road. The campground hosts even welcomed us.

Very nice well maintained campground. Host were very helpful. Would like to give it more however.

- Single water fill
- No Showers

- No connectivity
It is like boondocking on a prepared sight.

We would like the bathrooms with running water, but the campground was very nice. Nicely kept beach and boat rental. One thing that was a little troublesome was the there was a street between the lake and the campground.
