Very nice campground with hood size areas. Warning, if going after September everything is closed including water. That wasn’t clear on my reservation until I checked into the park and was told everything was locked up and the taps were off.

This site is slightly sloped towards the road so might not be the greatest for a camper van if leveling blocks are not used. Site is located between trees providing shade.

ots of trees, beautiful campground. Good location for seeing the West Side of Glacier. However, while sites had plenty of room, most were VERY unlevel. If you use solar, come prepared for the lack of sun, due to the short window of visible sky because of the mountains. Come prepared and it'll be okay. Our Major complaint was the shower facilities. Three shower rooms for over 200 sites. One shower facility for the entire park, the line was an hour wait at times. We brought kayaks, easy to get them inspected and put in, not far from the campground. While dogs weren't allowed on hiking trails, they are allowed on bike trails so, we walked miles of bike trails. The ranger programs were great, don't miss them. And, it was fun to take the Red auto tours, great way to see the glaciers without driving.
DO NOT miss driving up to POlebridge. Eat at the Mercantile and enjoy the drive north. We took our kayaks and enjoyed those lakes more than Lake McDonald.

The campground was in the process of closing and many amenities were not available such as showers. Water was turned off before the last two weeks before closure. Loss of this resource was difficult. The use of one pit toilet for one-third of the campground was adequate though due to the large amount of self-contained campers. The large use of generators was very annoying. Other National Park Campgrounds will have a loop that is generator -free. Also there was much confusion about unused campsites that were labeled reserved but left empty while people were looking for sites. The Park officials had different answers for people looking for same day camping.
