I had a wonderful experience at Apgar Campground. The sites are spacious and well-maintained, and the setting is beautiful — you really feel immersed in Glacier National Park. Loop A has hot showers available 24 hours a day, which was a huge plus after long hikes.
The rangers and camp hosts were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to answer questions or share tips about trails and wildlife. Another bonus is the campground’s location: it’s just a short drive to a couple of nearby towns where you can pick up food, gas, and other supplies.
Overall, Apgar Campground is a fantastic place to stay if you want convenience, comfort, and great access to the park. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Glacier!

Beautiful campground! Only downside is the lack of gear boxes at each campsite. If there is a big deal about bear country, there should be bear boxes at each site, rather than communal ones that can be far away.

Fantastic campground! We really love the quiet hours and that everyone respects them! We loved the location, so close to the water and cozy Apgar village. And it is really handy that the shuttles to the going to the sun road starts from Apgar visitor center close to this campground so you are the first passenger on the bus. The only disadvantage is that there are only a few showers for a lot of people.
Must do is: Explore Glacier National park by hiking, use the shuttle to the going to the sun road, the views are amazing.

We loved our stay, so close to the visitors center, village and lake provided daily hikes to. Also, the evening ranger programs at the amphitheater were very enjoyable. We were in a camper but if you're tenting you might have to wait in line for the showers. Otherwise it was very enjoyable.
