Amazing place. Large sites which gave us a sense of privacy. Clean washrooms. It was a gift to spend time there.

Had a great week at B58! Plenty of room for 2 tents, but no hammock spots. Conveniently located next to the bathrooms, with 2 bear boxes very close by.

Beautiful campground, many beautiful mature trees and nice campsites. A rustic campground, no electricity which is ok but light in the bathrooms would be nice.

We were surprised there was no electricity, so there was no lights in the bathrooms. We were disappointed there were no showers. The campground itself and our spot was lovely.

Lots of shade, easy access to trails and long driveways. Brand new bathroom set the new benchmark for campgrounds. Squeaky clean. No showers unfortunately

Excellent site right next to back trail access to avalanche trail. Site wide, plenty of space for two tents and camp supplies, decently secluded from neighbors, dark at night.

5

Good site though somewhat close to adjacent campers. Campground itself nice, good access to avalanche lake trail from the site and was quiet and dark at night. Bathrooms don't have electricity or lights which was nice for keeping campground dark at night though may be a negative depending on preference. Camp host very friendly and attentive.

Avalanche Lake campground is ideally located; especially, if your visit is focused on the west side of the park. However, there are not sufficient bear lockers. There is one locker for every 4-5 campsites. We've stayed in many other bear active areas at other parks and there has always been one locker per site. Luckily, the bears at Glacier haven't really learned yet (unlike Yosemite) how to break into vehicles, so plan on taking all your food and toiletries in and out of your vehicle constantly. We were a party of 6 so it was a pain. The camp host suggested we put items in our tent. REALLY?!?! I don't want to come back to a torn up tent or worse yet have it torn up while we're sleeping in it. That was the only negative. Beautiful area, campsite was clean and overall quiet. Plenty of tall trees for shade, too.
