What Guests Are Saying

Sprague Creek Campground is a charming and clean site with excellent access to Lake McDonald, making it ideal for tent campers and smaller vehicles. Visitors appreciate the friendly camp host, beautiful lake views, and quiet atmosphere, particularly in the evenings. However, some sites are small and close together, resulting in limited privacy, and road noise can be an issue, especially for those near the main road.

Too tight for big rigs, but perfect for class B, truck campers, tents.

A very nice campsite right on the lake. We were in spot 19 next to the bathrooms. The road was a little loud in the evenings and mornings but overall the experience was good.

They need to change the QR code to Cut bank. Had to go to visitor center to help me do it in the app. Kept coming up as Sprague campground. Or have an envelope drop or kiosk. No internet. I would stay here again. Love how it's smaller and our night was quiet. Could hear the owls.

Awesome campground, very clean and well kept! The road is a little noisy and contrary to what the app says, there’s absolutely no cell service up there.

Sprague Creek campground is nice. Close to the Apgar entrance, very clean, kind/inviting host, on Lake McDonald (great sunset spot), and a small number of sites so low traffic. Take note there are no showers at this campground. Also you will hear noise from the main road right beside the campground, look on Google maps and this becomes immediately apparent. In the evening GTTSR traffic drops off to almost nonexistent so wasn't an issue for us.

Get the lakeside sites if possible. You will be close to the lake and further from the main road. We had site 19 and I do not recommend. Your tent will be around 30 feet from the bathroom door with a light on all night. A public walkway to the bathroom cuts through the site separating your parking spot from the bathroom, so people will be walking through your space. There is rope strung around the site maybe to show the public it's not open, IDK, but it made for a less natural experience. Also it would have been challenging to fit two tents in this site, not sure it would have been possible although it claims that's ok. I would not get #19 or 18 unless I had no other options.

We also had site 4 for friends which was nice although in the middle so not much privacy. But more room for tents, no public pathways, closer to the lake.

The campground itself was very charming. Wooded with direct convenient access to the lake beach. Unfortunately no shower facilities. The site itself was definitely not one of the better ones. Small and too close to the bathroom which is a net negative unless you have a disability or diarrhea. The fire ring is located right next to it, and at the one spot with no tree coverage. The site was also pretty close to the road.
