What Guests Are Saying

Sprague Creek Campground is a charming and clean site with excellent access to Lake McDonald, making it ideal for tent campers and smaller vehicles. Visitors appreciate the friendly camp host, beautiful lake views, and quiet atmosphere, particularly in the evenings. However, some sites are small and close together, resulting in limited privacy, and road noise can be an issue, especially for those near the main road.

Small quiet campground that is more centrally located. No showers. Good modern bathroom.

Running water, flush toilets, good campsite with tent platforms. Small campground but good site. Close to the Road to the Sun so some traffic noise. Great shuttle pick up and Joan the host was friendly and informative.

Sites are close together and no privacy. Road is close and gets noisy early. But you can't beat a lakefront site on Lake McDonald. Toilets with running water but no soap. Overall a very positive experience staying here!

We had a wonderful spot on the lake and across from the washrooms. Water was available for drinking, site and washrooms were clean, campground was quiet. Great access to the park, hiking and not too far from town for supplies.

We really enjoyed Sprague Creek Campground! Site 8 was in a great spot closer to the lake and away from the road. We didn't have any issues with road noise waking us up and we barely noticed it during the day. We had a deer roam through our campsite a couple of nights during our stay. We were told that bears have frequented the area but we didn't see any in our campgeound while we were there. The bathrooms were clean and I didn't realize we would have flush toilets which was a plus! Bear boxes are shared which is a pain since we didn't have any extra room in our truck for our food and the close box was full but we had a wagon that helped us to move our food back and forth to our campsite from a box that was farther away. Lake McDonald is beautiful and we had some great lake views from our site! Sites 12 and 13 seemed like the only sites that had more of a view. Lake McDonald was warm enough to briefly swim in so I was glad we had our swimsuits and water shoes to protect our feet from the rocks. We would definitely stay at Sprague Creek again!

Campground was very clean and perfect location. I would have given 5 stars but the road noise was a bit rough to deal with. I'm sure the sites on the other side closer to the lake were better . The site I was at was closer to the road. Earplugs helped

Great campground and our site was fantastic. No soap in bathrooms, so bring hand sanitizer. A little sad that noise from the GTTS road was prominent, but that's to be expected here. Some people might want earplugs for sleep.

Our group had an amazing time at Sprague and would highly recommend it to anyone. Lake Mcdonald is right there and you’re in driving distance of a lot of really nice hikes / activities. Joan, the camp volunteer, was very nice and accommodating and also was able to teach us a lot about the camp.

Site 11 is probably the worst option in this campground. It's right next to the bathrooms and camp dump station and the site is not fully level. People are constantly coming and going through your site and the bathroom light shines all night into your tent.

The tent pad is small and gravelly and the vehicle noise was constant. The sites are very close together with little to no privacy; we could hear every word of a drunken conversation two campsites down for many hours. The only bathroom for the campground was rundown and didn't have handsoap. You could potentially walk to the picnic ground bathrooms for a more updated option with soap.

The view was of the water through the trees was lovely and Joan, the campground host, was incredibly helpful when we had an issue.
