What Guests Are Saying
Avalanche Campground is a well-maintained, clean campground with excellent access to popular hiking trails, including Avalanche Lake and the Trail of the Cedars. While some sites lack privacy and amenities like hot showers, the beautiful surroundings and convenient location make it a recommended choice for campers. Visitors appreciate the friendly camp hosts and the serene atmosphere, despite some minor issues with restroom cleanliness and noise.

We loved the location of this campground and would love to stay here next time we visit glacier! It was nice to be right next to the avalanche lake trailhead which is a must do hike!

It’s a very nice campground right off Going to the sun road. Great layout, restrooms are nice and clean. No showers but 5 mi down the road are Apgar’s showers which are nice. Heavily tree’d for lots of shade. The ground ranger-attendant was extremely nice and answered any question I had.

No showers. No bear boxes at each site. No lights in the bathroom. What are we paying for? This should be free for this kind of quality and even then I'd avoid.

Fantastic Campsite! Mostly level ground, perfect for a tent and a canopy over the picnic table.

The volunteer campground hosts were very helpful with discussing the latest updates for the area. I was a little disappointed to see that many of the sites were a small pull through. Not many spaces had the ability to pack back in off the loop road. This is difficult to see in the pictures provided on the website.
