What Guests Are Saying

Avalanche Campground is a well-maintained, clean campground with excellent access to popular hiking trails, including Avalanche Lake and the Trail of the Cedars. While some sites lack privacy and amenities like hot showers, the beautiful surroundings and convenient location make it a recommended choice for campers. Great site surrounded by forest, with plenty of space to set up our 4-person tent. We could hear the rushing of the creek at night, which was great ambiance to fall asleep to.

Only spoke to the camp host briefly, but she was very friendly and welcoming. Bring your own soap and light source for the bathrooms.

We had a good stay except for noisy campers next to us. Later found out they took someone else’s site and had to be evicted….

clean and quiet - no grates on the grill to avoid food residues from attracting bears so bring your own if you want to cook out/barbecue

Avalanche campground is well wooded and the sites are spacious and beautiful. It is appropriate for any size set up - tents to large RVs. The sites are spaced far enough for privacy and close enough to camp with friends "next-door." At certain times of day the bathrooms can be busy with foot traffic from the trail nearby. The proximity of the campground to the trail is very convenient. The Trail of the Cedars is beautiful and wheelchair accessible and Avalanche Trail is more challenging, so there is something within walking distance for all abilities. The proximity to the Shuttle stop is also very convent!

I love camping here. It’s not as busy as the rest of the park, so it’s nice to come back to camp after a long day of hiking to wind down by the fire.
