What Guests Are Saying

Many Glacier Campground is praised for its beautiful location and proximity to numerous hiking trails, making it a favorite among visitors. The campground is well-maintained, with clean bathrooms and friendly staff, enhancing the overall experience. While some campers noted issues with privacy and the need for showers at the nearby Motor Inn, the convenience and stunning scenery largely outweigh these minor drawbacks.

Incredible experience! I spent 7 month and donated a kidney to get a camp spot at Many glacier but it was well worth it!! It’s a tent camper and hikers dream!

Difficult to get a campsite and pretty nerve racking waiting for reservations to become available 4 days ahead, when already in the park with mostly very limited cell service. Site itself was OK, no tent pad to speak of, had to pitch on the driveway and try to smooth the gravel surface, guess the main assumption is everyone is RV or van camping, wish they had more dedicated tent locations. Sites were very dusty. Ranger stopped by 2 times in 2 days to go over bear safety and then fire safety, but not to say we were doing anything wrong. This was the only Glacier NP campsite where we had bug issues, and the ravens definitely provide quite the wake-up call. And unfortunately, no showers available within the campground. But the campground provided close access to some nice hikes and wildlife spotting opportunities.

The group site, R37, was spacious and had several nice areas for tents. It had three bear boxes, three picnic tables, and a water spigot. The bathrooms are close but not too close to hear the hand driers, although their lights are very bright at night. There is no soap in the bathrooms. The campground host was very thorough in his explanation of how to prevent ursine visitors and we had no problems despite bear activity in the area.

The showers are at the Swiftcurrent Motor Lodge cabins, located behind the motor lodge itself, and cost $4/token, each of which gets ~8 minutes of water. The water was a good temperature. Buy the tokens at the gift shop at the motor lodge.

Site was well situated in the camp and all amenities were close by / easy to use & find. I wish showers were a little closer (they are a bit of a walk behind the Motor Inn) but really can't complain when you're still able to get a nice shower while camping. Extremely convenient access to ranger station and grinnell glacier trail head, as well as most other major trailheads in many glacier.
