The campsite was as I expected. It was mostly quite; people seemed to respect the quite hours with regards to not running generators. The boat slips available for campers was a real bonus.

The 2023 campground hosts are very prompt and are friendly. The toilets are clean and the grounds are well kept. There are still reserved campground sites that are not being used and are unavailable to others. Also the fish cleaning stations are not maintained and are unavailable for use. Fish guts end up in the dumpsters and the smell and flies are miserable. No excuse for not spending the money to get the cleaning stations functioning. Happy that both Holter campgrounds are open this year. Thank you for that.

Large spaces and lots of grass. Our spot had a lovely view of the lake.
Only drawback is the idiot who leaves their generator running all day long, when they weren’t at their spot.

Beautiful area but very disappointed that the campsite was featured as having water but no water was available. This would have been better if we were refunded a portion of our camping fee. Also, even though you paid for a campsite they then additionally charged you a day use fee to launch your boat. That is just another way to collect more revenue, a common theme with scummy practices.

Quiet hours are from 10:00pm to 7:00am. There is no power available on-site for campers. |

Caution: While it is uncommon to sight a bear in the area, it is possible. Bears, racoons, ravens, seagulls, magpies, and other animals will get into your food if not properly stored. Please be prepared to store your food either in your locked vehicle, RV, trailer, or bear-proof container while camping. |

Prairie rattlesnakes and bull snakes inhabit this area. Be cautious of where you step or reach. |

Please watch for ticks and black widow spiders. Both are very common in the area. Black widow bites, while not usually deadly, can be extremely painful and have caused local necrosis of the associated tissues and severe illness. |
