We had made reservations for a camping spot in February. When we arrived in May we found that our 38 foot Motorhome would not fit in the space so the camp host put us in the parking lot. We were there for 7 days and there were camping spots that were empty. The camp host had no authority to put us in another spot. They said all camp spots were reserved but were empty all the time we were there. If it would have been later in the year when the weather gets hot it would have been miserable.
They should have someone on sight that has some authority on placing campers in better spots than the parking lot. And the main office was closed so we had to track down the park host.
I think the park needs to have better plans for people with bigger campers or put a limit on the length. Also the boat docks were not set up very well for handy cap people.

The campground hosts are friendly and do a very good job. I am not sure I like or appreciate the expanding campsite reservation system yet. It is nice to know you have a campsite when you get there. Some of the drawbacks are that the system allows people to reserve the prime spots and then not use them. It seems like rather than let people reserve the sites and then just leave them sit empty, there should be a way to make "No Show" sites available to others. I feel there needs to be more sites available to "first come, first served" especially at Log Gulch. Is there a limit on how many sites can be reserved in advance? Last year it seemed that some of the prime lakefront sites were used by the same people every weekend. Can people go online when reservations open up early in the year and reserve the same sites for every weekend all summer long? Seems like some people can reserve the best sites and may or may not even use them. They don't bother to cancel they just block the site from others being able to use them. Clean quiet campground, at least in October. The camp hosts were helpful and friendly. We took a day trip to the Charlie Russell museum in Great Falls.

The first night is first come first served, unless the sites are tagged reserved. When you make the reservation they charge an $8 reservation fee, (which is bogus).
The camp hosts were pleasant, even when informing us that the generator had to be turned off at 10PM, even though my boyfriend needed it to run his CPAP. There’s no electric, a few drinking water spigots scattered throughout, turned off in the winter, and two outhouses. No RVDump on site.
The park was beautiful, spaces far enough apart, and guests so few that we all had lots of privacy. Fall definitely is the time to come. The upper loop, where we were is closed for the fall, winter though. All spaces are back in, and most of them in the lower loop would be difficult if you’re longer than 24 feet. Our 5th wheel is 32 feet. But they are wide enough you can unhook your vehicle and park beside your RV.
There was a small herd of mule deer that wandered through every morning and evening, so that was cool to experience.
There’s a nice beach/picnic/swim area, no pets allowed. Lots of paths to walk as well. The fall colors were amazing.
We just wanted to get away from it all, and with spotty cell service we did.
