The campground was very clean and quiet. It was so nice to not have people partying all night long. The one thing we found inconvenient and a deterrent for wanting to come back in the near future is no bear boxes in bear country and we paid $30 per night. We would have expected to pay less per night to have to put dirty coolers in the cab of our truck.

I don't want to recommend this site because camp sites close to the Bay Area are becoming so hard to reserve but this really is a wonderful campground UNLESS you are uncomfortable with the camp procedures required for bear country. We camp in Yosemite most years and they are far more strict but we were with a family who was a. freaked out by bears entering the campsite at night, and b. annoyed that they had to secure food and scented things at all times. We think it's totally worth it to have walkable access to the lake and roomy campsites. Also, most people were good about mask wearing which may or may not be relevant by the time we're all camping again!
