We love this campground and come down from Colorado almost yearly. We discovered the Abiquiu area many years ago and it holds a special place in our hearts. We always choose a no power site, as they are closer to the lake. The bathrooms are very nice and showers nice and hot.
We highly recommend this campground.

Very friendly camp hosts helped make the stay even better in this gorgeous campground. The scenic views and the quietness made this one of the most peaceful camping experience we’ve had.

What a hidden gem!! The park is beautiful and so quiet. Camp host is very friendly and helpful. Be sure to watch the sunrise and sunset casting light on the surrounding mountains. Spectacular!

Great camping, both dry and w/hookups. The views are amazing and there is hiking right from the camp grounds. Beautiful drives and hiking around the area. Cell coverage (AT&T) isn't very good.

The host was very helpful and friendly. The amenities at the camp site worked as they should. Some of the walking trails were closed. Other trails were hard to follow because of sparse markings. We would stay again if we are in the area. Thanks!

We were late in making plans and there was only one tent sight left.... it was beautiful! Great view of the lake, not too close to neighbors, nice pad to set up the tent. Perfect.

This was not our first time in Abiquiu. We had taken a day trip from my daughter’s house in Lindrith, NM. It’s so beautiful, we decided to go back and stay. The Echo Amphitheater area is beautiful and close by. We stayed here because we wanted to go to the Monastery of Christ in the Desert, which was also close by. It started raining while we were at the monastery, which made the 13 mile narrow dirt road drive back to the campground VERY treacherous. Don’t consider doing this, if rain is predicted. We were in our Subaru Outback, with all-wheel drive, and my husband said it was the most intense drive he had ever done. The road turns into snail snot with rocks. When we got back to our site, we ended up having to take a wheel off our car, to get the rocks out. The rocks were stuck between the rock shield and brake pad. The drive back was pretty scary, but we’re glad we went. The monastery is beautiful. The weather prevented us from doing much more exploring, but we did stop by a local gas station/grocery store, Bode’s General Store. Their tamales were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Their pulled pork barbecue sandwiches were delicious, as well as their pork and hominy chili.
This place was amazing, starting with our spacious, beautiful site. The campground was well maintained, the hosts were super
helpful, and the views were spectacular. We reserved two nights in a spot with no hookups because it was all that was available. Then, we stayed two more nights in a site with power and water. It’s definitely a popular spot, and the sites with hookups go quickly. We will definitely stay here again in the future, whether we have hookups or not.

Lovely views of Georgia O'Keeffe's Ghost Ranch countryside, nice campsite, friendly staff. Parking was not level but I believe they stated that in the description of the campsite so read the details if that matters to you, we made it work for our van with our leveling blocks. The tent site was gravel and looked level, with a beautiful view. Restrooms were well attended.
