Camping spaces easily accessible, views astonishing, trails great. Peaceful and quiet. We were in a pull thru that was not very level, but we managed. Would definitely go back.

This was a wonderful stop on our route! We stayed in site 2 with water and electric. The Starlink connection was excellent. The Camp Host was friendly and very helpful. The hike through the lava was informative and surprising. We also took a bike ride up the hill to the west and back down to Carrizozo, 25 miles round trip.

The campground is well maintained with a friendly staff and visitor's center. Very nice hiking trails in a unique desert environment. Can be very windy as most of the RV sites are located on a ridge. Very sheltered tent sites however.

The campground host at this location was friendly and hard-working. He obviously took pride in the place as he was busy making sure things were clean and looked nice. The showers were decent, and it's obvious there are upgrades being done. The lava fields were super interesting and worth the walk. The water at the campsites was good, too! We would recommend this place to anyone.

Each campsite had plenty of space and the views were stunning. Some sites with electric and water. Nothing around the area though so bring what you need.
