Upper Fir Campground is great for groups. There is ample space for trailers, RVs, and tents. The pavilion is wonderful for gathering and especially in case of rain. We enjoyed the camp fire area. The two outhouses were clean and usable and amply supplied with supplies. Upper Fir DOES have a water spigot and faucet, which is very handy. (We were told it didn't have water, which was not true.) Scenery is great with plenty of room for kids to explore and build forts out of branches and twigs. We saw elk, deer, and wild horse as well as several varieties of birds.

The area was spacious, well maintained and had all the amenities. The bathrooms were clean and there were two sets of them that we could use. The pavilion was huge with plenty of seating, water, trash and even a bear box for all our food. We loved staying here the best part was the giant fire ring. Our host Ashley was very responsive and very friendly. Would love to stay here again.

Upper Fir Group Campground was Great - Beautiful, Quite, isolated for just our group. 10 mins from Cloudcroft.
Saw wild horses, elk, & deer from our campsite, no raccoons.
The 36’ x 65’ pavilion with concrete floor was spacious enough for cooking, eating, CornHole & other games, and for a 10’ x 20’ walled canopy for late evening socializing warmth, plus 10 wooden 8’ long picnic tables. Large permanent grills, bear box for storing condiments, & trash receptacles were very handy. There was running water at the pavilion.
Some of the 11 RV sites were tight (trees) accessing them in our 33-35 foot long RV’s, but doable. Other sites were wide open.
Camp host was pleasant, helpful, informative, & out of sight but close, if needed.
Recommend this location for you next group camp out.
