Great site and beautiful drive to the campground. Amenities were ideal for the family, bathrooms were as clean as expected for what they were. Only downside is how noisy the campground was at night. Quiet hours are after 10. Surprisingly, the generators in loop 3 were not the issue. People apparently created their own nightclub and blasted music/screamed their hearts out until 1 am. Zero regard for others using the space. Overall, it was a good experience but may stay away from the more popular sites like Jemez falls.

The hike to the falls was not too far and enjoyable. Also drove to the Valles Caldera to watch the elk.

One of the best maintained campgrounds we've stayed in. The campground host kept the site beautifully clean, made just enough rounds of the loops to make sure everything was fine, and was helpful with questions. A gorgeous campground in the Ponderosa Pines. Five stars! Close to great hiking in the Jemez Mountains and Valles Caldera.

This was a great campground. The sites were well spaced. It was especially quiet, as we were in the no-generators loop.

The Recreation.gov site kept changing the selected dates which resulted in a one night reservation rather than a 2 night reservation that we needed. The system was not very intuitive at all and was very confusing. The Recreation.gov site is NOT a production grade website.
The $8 reservation fee is extremely expensive just to place a reservation. We feel that we were cheated and ripped-off. When I make a reservation at a hotel, airline, or anywhere else there is NO reservation fee......NONE!!! The camping fee of $20 is enough compensation for the one day rental of a pick-nick table and fire ring. There is no need to force us to pay an additional reservation. This is tantamount to STEALING. That park was bought, paid for, and maintained by taxpayer monies. I happen to be a 68 year old tax payer.

The campground area was clean and the restrooms provisioned. We appreciated that the host made regular rounds to assure that the campers were doing okay. It felt like a safe place to be.
