Tent pad area was large, we enjoyed using the fire ring. A good experience, next time I will pick a more shaded spot away from the walking trail, but overall an excellent campground.

We were finally able to book an electric/water site at San Antonio Campground. Downside, power was out at the first bathroom to the right of the entrance, making it tricky to use at night. The rest of the bathrooms had power.
The other problem is "no shows" keeping the sites from being used. There were two of the six electric sites that were unoccupied for at least three days. It would be great if Recreation.gov made the "no show" policy more clear on the website, so others could take advantage of an unused site. There are precious few sites available anymore in the forests.

The campsite was so nice. The camp host was not very good at keeping things cleaned and picked up. While we were there, the bathroom was cleaned only one time. Lots of outside traffic driving through the campground. Camp host not visible very often.

Bathrooms were very stinky but that is how it is I guess.
Fishing was bad. Someone said they don't stock the river at the campground which is very sad.

This was a beautiful tent campsite at the back of the campground (site 29) near a stream. The tent pad was very level, it was easy to set up my little 2-man backpacking tent, the campsite had a picnic table so it made it easy to cook & eat, and the area was clean. For this particular spot, I had to park my car in a parking space & walk about 50 yards to the tent site, but it was worth it and I never worried about the safety of my car. There was a pit toilet close by & there was clean drinking water from a spigot. But the best thing about this site was that it was QUIET at night, there were no loud parties, so I slept like a baby. And there was not much light pollution, so I could see thousands of stars at night. I will definitely camp here again.

Whoever the new host is, is doing a great job. The campsite is spotless. I’ve been coming to San Antonio since childhood. I don’t believe Ive ever seen it so clean. He’s really on top of it.
