We stayed recently at Deer Springs and was nothing like our previous stay there a few years ago! It was so much fun and so hospitable. They even had a social with homemade ice cream in evenings!
We were told by other campers they changed ownership and now employ a new couple that is also running campground.
The Mountain View is beautiful but you need to decide whether it’s worth it! We heard that the reason park was so empty is because a lot of repeat customers that are now no longer repeats. Upon arrival we had to sign many pages of do’s and don’ts one of which is a deposit for putting up your own pet fence. If grass is damaged in anyway you will have to pay extra.
No rugs touching grass, bathrooms are not to be used for campers with full hook-ups, ( supposedly camera is watching that is what they told us)they kept all but one trash can locked with chains and you had to walk across entire campground to put trash as they don’t pick up. They have a no refund policy on unused stays!
The worst part of our stay was we had a hail storm and I ask both the husband and wife if we could park under their covered parking because it had been empty our entire 3 week stay. Both of them said yes but when my husband got ready to park under it they had put an old golf cart under the carport. I told them we were expecting heavy hail within the next few minutes and the man said he decided to clean out the garage area and needed the space. Needless to say our new car received hail damage $8,000.00 to be exact. They flat lied to my face! We would have gone to town and found cover under a bank or somewhere that had cover. Our stay was for 1 month which we paid the entire stay prior and decided to leave 11 days early because they rented spot next to us with a pitbull that was tied on a thin rope. We have two Shih Tzu’s and couldn’t relax sitting outside afraid of they’re safety and ours. I ask them if they allowed pit bulls and they said the pit bull was a service animal mind you , and it was tied with a rope and the owner practically had to kicked it to get in his trailer. He also did not pick up feces after his dog until he was told to. Does that sound like a service dog?
We drove over a thousand miles to get there and relax not to mention the expense. If I had only known we would have gone somewhere else.
They also have terrible WiFi and you can barely use phone much less watch tv unless you have your own satellite. Dryer in laundry didn’t work and ask if I could have my $2.50 back and was informed they don’t give refunds.
Last but not least there is deer feces everywhere you walk and causing many flies. You and your dogs can’t walk without stepping in it.

First time here, it was pretty far but worth the drive. The couple running the rv campground were friendly and helpful. Lots of RV slots and liked that they have buddy slots. Only thing we didn't like is that they charge to guarantee your spot even though you pay and select your spot.

Enjoyed our stay. Cool weather and beautiful blue skies. Relaxed atmosphere. Nice laundry available. Friendly hosts Samantha and Brad were welcoming and made the stay very enjoyable. Some sites are back to back and the alternate sites could be considered buddy sites. End sites have a little more space as advertised on Campspot. Lots of deer and hummingbirds around. Very peaceful and relaxing campground. Short trip from El Paso and Las Cruces and 20 degrees cooler. Will definitely stay again in the future.

My wife and I and our canine kids really enjoyed our short relaxing weekend getaway up to Mayhill, NM staying in this beautiful RV resort. We highly recommend them. The sound of the creek that runs nearby and the beauty of sitting on a park bench sipping on coffee ☕️ or a bit of vino 🍷 while sitting in front of the running creek was totally awesome! The service was excellent as well. We can hardly wait to visit this gorgeous place often. Here’s a tip though…watch your forecast and pack your heated hose just in case the overnights fall below freezing. Or at least make sure your fresh water tank has plenty to see you through until the temps come back up above freezing. 🥶☺️👍🏽
