What Guests Are Saying
Black Canyon Campground is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and beautiful surroundings, making it a favored spot for campers. The spacious sites, friendly camp hosts, and proximity to hiking trails and Santa Fe enhance the overall experience. However, the lack of water has been a consistent issue, and some visitors have reported problems with caterpillar infestations and site accessibility.

I think this has been our favorite campground in a National Forest to date. Every campsite was well kept and far enough away from others to give you some privacy. Other than the water issue on the whole mountain, I’d say this place was perfect.

Wonderful campground! Only wish they'd get the water fixed. I believe it's been out over two years now. No excuse for that.
Otherwise great!

Our hosts, Scott and Jessica, were wonderful, friendly, and very helpful with anything we asked of them. We were there about 5 days and the campgrounds were clean as well as the restrooms. I would strongly recommend staying there if you have the chance. Tent and camper sites available!
And of course, go visit Santa Fe, Taos, and Chimayo!

A well maintained, accesible and lovely campground with fire pits and super clean latrines. It is a perfect gateway to the Santa Fe Mountain trails which there are many. Five stars-stay awhile!

Water was not available after calling weeks before arrival when we were told water would be available. We made it ok. The campsite was very good and we enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely amazing campground and site. Beautiful national forest and this campground is amazing. Large, well spaced out, level sites with amazing layouts including all compacted gravel areas for tents, picnic table and fire pit!!
