About Mount Pisgah Campground

One of the most popular of the Parkway's campgrounds, Mount Pisgah Campground is perched in the rolling mountains of western North Carolina on the southernmost end of the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. Surrounded by dense hardwood forests at an elevation of 4,980 ft, it offers shady, cool respite from the summer heat. Whichever end of the day appeals, spectacular sunrise and sunset panoramic views can be enjoyed from nearby overlooks. Several popular hiking trails, ranging from moderate to strenuous, are accessible from the campground. Drenched in history, this area was once part of the holdings of George Vanderbilt and the site of his hunting camp house, Buck Springs (no longer standing), is close by.

1 Showers need work
2 Wifi available at check in kiosk but not even bench to sit on.
3 Various loops are for specific type of camping...inconsistently applied by staff who are often inexperienced.

We (family of 5) came for a weekend trip and camped. We had a great time. Our campsite was separated enough from the other campers that you could hear them but not see them. The facilities were nice as well. We just really enjoy the area with easy access to trails, waterfalls, breweries, and more.

Well situated, clean and friendly staff. Might recommend having a tent area only. Many of us want to get away from civilization not have it next to us.

The campground was comfortable, with plenty of restroom and shower facilities available. It was located in a great place for hikes. It was fascinating to look up at night and see the Milky Way. Interesting people as well. Helpful campground hosts.
