Beautiful, parklike setting, mostly flat and grassy with some shade trees and level sites. Electricity only, but potable water sources were nearby.
Nice boat ramp nearby, on a calm body of water perfect for paddling.
A pair of Barred Owls lent a lively and ethereal soundscape to the evening.
Camp hosts did a great job of keeping things neat and orderly.
This place goes onto our list of favorites and we look forward to a return stay.

Grounds were in beautiful condition and campsites were nicely laid out. Bathrooms were very clean but a little dated. Will definitely return for another visit and would not hesitate to recommend this campground.

Quiet, spacious, and clean. This was our second visit to this park. We used to live 10 miles away and come to visit family and friends. The park is minutes away from Emerald Isle and Swansboro. There are deer, turkeys and other critters tha come out from time to time. Go to the boat landing to catch a beautiful sunset and maybe catch a glimpse of a dolphin it two.
Bring you bug zappers and Off. The bugs can get thick without them.
The only downfall is that this is not a full hook-up campground. Potable water and a dump station are onsite.

We stayed at site 12 with a truck/tent setup. Overall experience here was really good. Electrical hookups worked as needed. Site was clean and ring, table, and post were in working order. Bathroom facilities were okay, nothing glamorous and spotless, but decent to brush teeth, wash hands, and use the flushing toilets. We didn't use the showers but they looked usable.
Noise was a little louder than normal at night. Since were weren't in a camper like most at the campsite, the road noise from loud truck exhausts, and motorcycles were noticeable despite a sound machine and fan in the tent.
Host was onsite and taking rounds often, but didn't bother anyone directly. Potable water was close by and this site felt private.

Quiet, secluded, but close to the beach, restaurants and shops. The best place to park your rv on the crystal coast.

Campground was nice enough, but lack of water at the campsites was annoying. We set up in a site near a faucet and could have filled our tank, but standard hoses did not fit. We were told a 3/4 in adapter was available at Lowes and purchased one: it did not fit and we had to pack the trailer up, drive to the one potable water hose near the dumpsite, fill the tank and set everything up again. Park service should have the correct adapters on each faucet.
