What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

Much preferred this campground over Cades Cove; the campsites were spacious and access to trails was great.

We love Smokemont. Site A007
This was a strange stay. The rangers were not around very much.
Smokemont does have a mouse problem. We picked up two when we were there a couple of months ago and finally caught them, in humane traps, while at Elkmont. Then we ended up with another one this trip but, fortunately, caught this one the morning we left. I don’t like rodents of any kind in the motorhome!

we always love camping in Smokemont, the bathrooms flush toilets are always clean, mostly level campsites & a river runs through it.

I camped at this campground when I was a little girl with my family. This was in the late 60s . I love this campground. We camp here with our family.

Beautiful site near the river. Excellent historical sites to tour at the visitor’s center. The town of Cherokee has lots of shops and don’t miss the museum. Then there are all the amazing views of the Smokey mountains.
