You are truly on your own at this campground- no staff help there.
get your water at the dump station near Cape Point.
Cold showers.
Also, don’t trust that your rig will fit. Our 35’ couldn’t fit in a supposed 40’ spot.
Stickers everywhere giving only the beach a safe place for you dog to go.

The beach was the only good thing about the camp site/
Site was overgrown with sand spurs. You could not get in or out with out stepping in them. Our dog was miserable the whole time. She would not even walk on the road with out stepping in them, and forget about the walking trails.
Our site was so steep that the front wheels were off the ground about a foot.
We left three days early.
Will not be back to that park

Campground was clean, sites were well marked. Bathroom facilities and shower buildings were serviced regularly. Showers only had cold water but felt good to get the sand off. Staff was friendly.

One of the most poorly maintained federal sites I’ve experienced. Sands spurs so overgrown you couldn’t use the grill or bbq. Need some help

P57 had no place to set up a tent. We had to move the picnic table to the asphalt to make a space to set the tent. Next to the road and the grill. Then there were burrs everywhere. We had to drive the dogs down to Hwy 12. Not kid or dog friendly at this spot. The view was beautiful though!!

The minimal contact check in experience was deeply appreciated. The sites are generally tight to access and except for a half dozen or so, or no longer than 43 to 45 feet. The only way to fill your water tank is to park in front of one of the restrooms (where the water spigots are placed) and you will be blocking the road while you fill.
Bring lots of leveling blocks.

Other than the prickly goat heads that were not fun for the dogs, it was a great campground. The stars were amazing. The walk to the beach was great. The bathrooms and showers were clean and functional. The rangers were super welcoming and informative. We wanted to experience the beach and it did not disappoint. Next time we will inquire about a "drive on the beach" pass. It was very popular in driving your vehicle on the beach.
