We love this beach and have stayed here at the cabins many times. We booked two nights. $380 total. On our first night we got back to our cabin at dark and found big roaches crawling everywhere on everything. Even in the bedrooms. We didn’t have any food out or anything else that would have attracted them. We ended up sleeping in our truck the first night. It was miserable. The next day we called the office and we were able to get a different cabin that was much cleaner and bug free. We have never had this problem here in the years before.

I’ve always enjoyed bringing the kids over several times a year and staying in the cabins. We actually were really close to marking all the cabins off our list. The island is not what it used to be and is becoming less family/kid friendly. Rude park volunteers and harsh unfriendly Park Rangers that provoke and harass the tourist. It was really a shame such a beautiful peaceful place was ruined by the hostility and pessimism from the volunteers and park ranger. Island and accommodations (5 out of 5 stars), park staff customer service (1 out of 5 stars).

Definitely a bare bones cabin but still clean and very comfortable. Rangers were very friendly and helpful. Hum of generators is the only drawback to the experience. Would definitely go back though
