Great rustic cabin on secluded seashore to get away from it all. The only minor issue is they need to replace or repair the holes in the screens so you are not attacked by no-see-ums while trying to sleep

I absolutely love Cape Lookout. So many memories. I enjoy being on the beach with few people around. Either swimming, surfing, shell collecting, or fishing. It makes me smile while I type this :}. Looking forward to our next trip! The attendant (Doug) that ran the main office was polite, professional, and fun to be around. Hopefully he will be there this next trip, as I will put some steaks on the barbie and unlock some spirits for him.Thank you for all that requires in keeping the island functional. See you soon!

Our summer trips to Cape Lookout National Seashore are the highlight of our year. We have stayed at Great Island and Long Point. Both locations are stunningly beautiful. We enjoy going to Portsmouth Village when we stay at Long Point, and our favorite part of the trip this year on Great Island was going to the Cape Lookout Lighthouse and Point.

Always have a great experience at Cape Lookout! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the Davis Shore Ferry Service is as well.

Remote beach experience unlike any other. Careful planning is a must, with fuel and ice the only provision available on the island. ATVs and generators are not required but make experiencing and exploring the island more comfortable.

My best friend an I take an annual girls vacation to Great Island Camps. We always have a fantastic time and come home with so many special memories. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and so are the other campers. We choose to "rough it" in a cabin with no electricity to add to the experience, but we have rented a generator for a few lights or fans a couple of times. It's not the prettiest place, but it is clean and well maintained. We will continue to have our annual adventure here for many years to come!

Cabins are basic and affordable, hot & cold running water and working range; any more would take away from the back-to-nature element of visiting Core Islands. On first trip out, I informed my sons that cell phones would not work on the island, on the second trip they discovered that service was available but didn't spend any real time on devices. This is a great place to go to be human, something you cannot buy.
