Pretty campground. Bathrooms clean but only hot water. In the summer makes a taking a shower a steamy process.
The town of Highlands and the surrounding area has grown a lot. The traffic on Hwy 64 is constant making it quite noisy most of the time. Only quite late at night which is kind of a bummer.

We loved the wooded campsite. It was cool in July and we were able to access water for swimming nearby. The camp hosts were very kind and thorough. We did not see any bears, but heard they were around. I would stay here again for sure.

This small campground is so peaceful and beautiful, spending the entire day at your campsite would be a great day. The trails at cliffside recreation area are quiet and underpopulated; it’s nice to hike in a beautiful forest away from throngs of people.

I was on a solo motorcycle trip, and I tent camped in site seven (007) for five nights in mid-June of 2024. I was very happy with my stay. The campground was not filled up, the restrooms and showers were cleaned every day, and the campground's hosts Mike and Melissa, were exceptional people. They were my neighbors across from me.
Most every day, I left on long motorcycle rides, so I can't speak to what it is like there during the day, but the nights were quiet. I was far enough from the main road where noise from traffic, which can be pretty busy during the day, but is nearly non-existent at night, was not that bad at all.
Two waterfalls are nearby, and the nice town of Highlands is just up the road a few miles to visit. One day, I took a break from motorcycling, and enjoyed Cliffside Lake Recreation Area that was connected to the campground by a short hiking trail.
I would very much like to return again.

Incredible location just 5 minutes from Highlands. Campsites were in good condition with most of them somewhat private. Facilities were clean. Plenty of hiking accessible straight from the campsite or a short drive away. We plan on coming back.

Great hosts! Very clean bathrooms and showers but there are only 2 of each. Road noise in sites 20 and 21. Would definitely stay there again.
