We were in site 5 which was good but sad that we weren’t able to set up a tent on the grass as well being sleeping on rocks is VERY uncomfortable. I get why but to set tents up on rocks is an issue without a doubt. The bathrooms that were near by were ok but wish they were a bit more nicer. Showers were nice & those bathrooms were much nicer.
Again it would’ve been a great experience if the rocks didn’t hurt when you tried to sleep. Usually I sleep through the night being the fresh air but those rocks are ridiculous.
I will be back if I am ever in the area but only if I can figure out away to sleep on rocks.

This campground is in a beautiful location with easy access to trails for hiking and biking, but easy river access for swimming and fishing. The camp hosts did a great job of maintaining the campground.

We stayed in the group camping section, which had its own parking area and was very close to the river. One downside was that people walking to the river passed by since there was a nearby trail. The bathrooms were a couple of minutes' walk away, but they were well-maintained. I would have loved it if there were more hiking trails or maps of the trails available, as we were not able to find any and we did not have phone service.

North Mills River is an excellent campground. It was incredibly clean, the sites and bathroom facilities were well maintained, the water was hot, and the site hosts were very friendly. There are tons of hiking and biking trail options, and the river is easily accessible from the campground. We loved side 22, which is a double site and had a ton of room. It is close to the bathrooms and there were trees to hang hammocks. We hiked the North Mills River trail all the way to the Hendersonville Reservoir and it was a great hike. There were 11 water crossing, so be prepared, but also tons of opportunities to stop and sit in the river for a bit to cool off.

We love this campground — it’s small and quiet. The sites are ample, the bathhouse is well-maintained, and the campground hosts are very friendly. There are lots of good spots to access the creek, and the kids can spend hours playing. Fully in the national forest (no cell service) but only ten minutes from a grocery store if needed. You are also less than an hour from numerous hikes and waterfalls in the area.
