This campground is a real Jem. It’s peaceful but close to a lot of sightseeing. The bathrooms and Bath houses were really clean. The hosts Keith and Diana we’re very welcoming and when they were doing their rounds, they would check in and say good morning. I definitely cannot wait to bring my wife back to this location.

Love this small well maintained campground and Recreation area- The Upper loop is much better for small trailers like our Basecamp Airstream-
Definitely do the drive up to the Blue Ridge parkway on the forest service road leading out of the area-

Had an awesome weekend at Mills River (yet again)! We reserved the group site, which was in pristine condition for us. Not long after we setup our tents and started on dinner, the campground hosts came by to greet us. While we were chatting, we realized we had forgotten a can opener. The hosts didn't hesitate to lend us one of their spares; they were unbelievably nice! During our visit, we ducked into town to have lunch at one of the nearby breweries, which was great! Each morning, a couple of us did some fly fishing next to our site and saw (but couldn't land) some big ones. As with the rest of the campground, shower and toilet facilities were well-kept. No run-ins with any critters (big or small). Looking forward to our next stay!

Lovely calm & relaxing campground. Site 019 is probably the most secluded as it is at the end of a dead end road but it is also furthest from the bath house. We definitely enjoyed our time !

I stayed in the less populated area, and I enjoyed the peace and the trees. I liked that I could walk around the area without driving far and still enjoy nature in abundance. The camp hosts were friendly yet unobtrusive. The bathrooms and showers were reasonabley well maintained and clean.
