The location is excellent for beach access and visiting local sites of interest - lighthouses and small towns along the Outer Banks. Local dining options are great. Bath houses are a bit dated, but clean. As others have noted, there’s little privacy between sites. Overall, you get a healthy dose of quality beach time!

Pros: Beach access was great and very close. The price is manageable for a family trying to take a cheaper trip to the beach. The facility is clean and well-kept. The bathrooms were even clean and we saw park attendants going around to see that everything was in order. We didn't see any trash lying about.
Cons: This is right on a well-used road so the noise isn't great. I kept hearing semi-trucks blaring down the road into the night, so if you're a light sleeper this may not be great for you. The shower opens up to the whole campground with one small door as a barrier. The door is not full length- meaning if you bend over or squat while showering there is a good chance someone might see you. There is one small corner shelf in the bathroom, so we didn't have any choice but to put our stuff on the ground which would be no problem if the door went down to the ground. The particular lot we stayed in was not great for tent camping. No airflow and smaller than most other lots and slanted.

The Oregon Inlet Campground was a great experience. The bathhouses were extremely clean and the shower water was the perfect temperature....just a little less than lukewarm....perfect for a hot summer day. The other campers were vert nice and helpful. Those with generators were very respectful of the quiet hours.

Facility was clean, everyone was nice, and nothing beats being that close to the ocean. There was a good amount of space per each site too. It was a great spot to stay at if you are looking to explore everything from surf shops and jockeys ridge, to fishing and beach walls.

Clean, well maintained grounds, walking trails over the dunes directly to the beach, not far from downtown. I highly recommend Oregon Inlet!

So close to the beach. Absolutely beautiful and an amazing bargain. Clean bath houses and friendly people. There is road noise because you are close to Hwy 12 but that cannot be helped. Loved it! Highly recommend. The only drawback is that the wifi doesn't really work at your campsite. If you need wifi to work, you'd better bring it yourself.

Sites could use some improvement- pad was eroding and uneven by >4” from left to right for our trailer. Full hookups would also be nice but we understand we booked the site with just water and electric.
