It is a great place and would be even better if they would get the beach open. The gate is a little annoying but I get it.

Nice clean park. Check in at location is a little extreme, but once you are past that it’s pleasant

Nice small campground with a lot of good trails to bike and hike. Only power at the sites, no water nor sewer. The check in was very weird, you go to the closed gate and text the host you are there. After many back and forths you have to open the gate yourself (it was raining for us) and drive thru and close it behind you. I gave only 3 stars instead of 4 based on the sad issue that the beach IS STILL CLOSED AFTER 4 YEARS! Come on COE, get off the stick already.

My grandkids and I really enjoyed Flanners Beach. It was spotless and neatly kept including the bathhouse. I am definitely looking forward to going again.

The tent campsite was small with no level spot for the tent. The trail went behind the site so people were walking and riding bikes behind the site regularly and going down the trail to the beach even though it was closed due to hurricane damage. The repairs are still not done 3 years after the hurricane. There is 1 bathhouse with 2 stalls for 40+ campsites and only 1 handicap restroom. There is an older restroom spot at the back of the campground, but is locked and unusable. It would be nice if this facility were in working order. There is no view of the water from sites that are right by the river. The trees and brush are so tall and thick that there is no breeze from the river to cool the hot summer days. People had smoked and left ashes in the bathroom. Overall, visitors did not follow the leave no trace motto. I cut my visit short by 1 day because it was not a comfortable experience. The sites are very close together and I did not have a pleasant or relaxing camping experience.

I love this camp ground, but trees need to be trimmed down they are getting caught on roof vents. Needs Recycling bins

Neat. Clean. Under good repair. Camp host runs a good ship. Down side. Beach still closed after 3 years since hurricane. Why so long?

Basic bare bones campground with electric sites and water and dump stations. If the beach could be opened back up this would be a 5 star review! Excellent trails and biking. Close to New Bern, Morehead City, Cherry Point, and Atlantic Beach

Nice, quiet campground. Site 16 is a little narrow due to the squirrel pole and prevented me from extending my awning but there is still plenty of shade.
