Beautiful little campground between New Bern and Havlock. 40 minute drive to Atlantic Beach. Needs some TLC as smaller bath house needs sprucing. This will be a beautiful campground in high demand once the beach is opened back up.
Great walking trails.

A good campground for relaxation. Unfortunate that access to the river is not available; however, once available, the campground will probably be harder to book a site.

The camp hosts were rough. We didn't have any issues with them but witnessed them constantly yelling at guests, even chased an old man down and screamed at him, calling him a liar for looking at empty campsite. The bathrooms were out of toilet paper as often as they had. They also wouldn't monitor the gate so guests had to be constantly open and close it. Not a huge deal, but definitely an inconvenience.

The campground provides spacious sites with plenty of room between them. It is also immaculately kept up by the campground host. It's unfortunate that you still can't walk down to the beach on the Neuse, which is still close due to damage from Hurricane Florence. But, we knew that before arriving. There are many well marked walking trails in the park, which we enjoyed. And the campground host was very kind and helpful with our problems with our towed vehicle.

We camped with a TT. This is a small, well maintained campground with convenient, clean bathrooms/showers. Reasonably private sites with a lot of trees. Many sites with electric but none with water, although there is water available at two locations...just need to be aware. Dump site available. Campground host was very friendly and helpful! Unfortunately access to the beach is still not available due to damage from a previous storm. Well maintained hiking trails with access from the campsites-several loops of varying lengths. Close to New Bern...visited on a Sunday so many places were closed. So much to do there, could have used an extra day! Will definitely be back!

Enjoyed my stay here. It was nice and quiet without a lot of folks coming and going.

Relatively full campground during the week and no empty sites on Friday or Saturday. Very quiet even on the weekend. Well taken care of bathhouse. Easy to access dump station and water fill. Conveniently located dumpster for trash. Close proximity to historic New Bern, Morehead City, and Fort Macon. We will stay here again when in the area.

Great 2 night stay at this campground convenient to New Bern and Beaufort. Campsite was spacious and easy to pull in. Lovely trail access from right behind the site. Bathrooms were a bit dated but clean enough. Plenty of hot water. Only downside to the showers was you had to hold the button down in order for the water to run. Definitely saves water but on a cold day (in the 30s) it was chilly in there!!
Great site access to a few river lookout points - can’t wait to come back when the beach access is back open again.
