I thought the Davidson River campground to be just right! I liked the spacing of the parking and tenting spots, liked the layout in a loop so kids can ride their bikes, liked being around so many families, felt safe, mostly quiet and location of restrooms.

Only one toilet per bathroom was open on our loop. I realize they are updating the bathrooms for next year but it would have been nice if they could have left the two toilets open in the women's restrooms. That is too many people for one toilet. Otherwise we love it here!

We have had a bad weather and could not built our tent the first day. Second day was OK. Only complaints on the rest room/shower close to site 138,

Love coming there. Why is ampitheater not being repaired & used. I always enjoyed programs they used to have there. Been coming to DR for 50 years. Always enjoy & plan to continue coming to DR for many years to come

This campground is excellent. I’ve stayed here at least a dozen times. The facility is in excellent condition. The staff is friendly. Most of all sites are covered in tree canopy.

The location is Great for outdoor activities. The hiking & fishing are excellent and being so close to Brevard is a definite plus for dining and cultural activities.

Our check-in was flawless and the gate keeper was cheerful and welcoming. We had a very good campsite on Laurel Loop #94. It was close to the bathroom and had lots of shrubbery between it and the next campsite for privacy. The gravel tentpad with cement border was what we like for our tent in case of rain. There was lots of birds singing at dawn. We didn't do any tubing this time, but we have before and it is very convenient to do so from the campground. It was prety warm so we didn't get a bundle of wood for $10, and we went into Brevard for more ice. We enjoyed walking at the trail across the road at the visitor center, as well as hiking at Pink Beds.

From Asheville, North Carolina, take I-40 West to I-26 East to Exit 40 (Airport Road/Asheville Regional Airport), onto State Highway 280. Continue south 15.5 miles on 280 to Pisgah National Forest. Turn right at the intersection of Highway 280/64/276. Go north on 276 for 1 mile. Follow signs to the campground.
From Spartanburg, South Carolina, take I-26 West to Exit 40 (Airport Road/Asheville Regional Airport), onto State Highway 280. Continue south 15.5 miles on 280 to Pisgah National Forest. Turn right at the intersection of Highway 280/64/276. Go north on 276 for 1 mile. Follow signs to the campground.
From Charlotte, North Carolina, take I-85 South to Gastonia and exit at U.S. Highway 74 West. Merge with I-26 West to Exit 40 (Airport Road/Asheville Regional Airport), onto State Highway 280. A number of first-come, first-serve sites are offered during the winter only. Availability is extremely limited during peak season, weekends, and holidays. It is recommended that visitors reserve other sites ahead of time. |

Single campsites are limited to 2 vehicles per site and double campsites limited to 4 vehicles per site. Additional vehicles wishing to park at the site are subject to a $5.00 per vehicle fee. |

All campsites must be occupied the first night of a reservation. Any unoccupied site on the first night will be released for other users and reservations will be cancelled without opportunity for refund. |

Pets are allowed on-site and must be supervised for the duration of your stay. Dogs must be kept on-leash or contained for the duration of your stay. Dog fences are not allowed in the campground. |

Davidson River is located in black bear territory. Visitors are expected to keep all smellable items locked away inside a camper, vehicle, or provided bear box. Visitors who do not comply with this rule may be asked to vacate the facility due to an increased risk of public safety. |

Generators may be used up to 4 hours per day between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.; generators not allowed on Poplar Loop (sites 99-113) |
