I've been camping at the Davidson River with my son for 12 years and I love it. It's near several beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails. My only complaint is the outside lights on the bathhouses. They are too bright so I would avoid camping near any of the bathhouses.

The property is fantastic. Beautiful riverside property nestled in the Pisgah National Forest. Campsites are far apart from one another and there is foliage between each campsite. The town of Brevard is close by with restaurants, breweries, and grocery stores if needed, but you felt far away while in the campground. There are a lot of bathroom facilities. Great place for boondocking.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall, a nice campground, especially for families. Bathrooms old and difficult to maintain clean, but generally well kept. Lots of activities available: tubing, fishing, hiking, biking. Ranger station nearby. Most campsites offer privacy with lots of foliage cover.

Davidson River Campground is a perfect place to stay. The area is beautiful and the campground itself was perfect. The swimming hole was fantastic. I hope to come back here again.

We have been camping at Davidson River since our kids were young...they are grown with kids of their own now and join us camping there! We had a wonderful time...we love the swimming hole, tubing and bike riding. And it is always exciting when we spot a white squirrel!

Enjoyed our stay at the campground. The river is beautiful and stocked with trout on Fridays these days. My grandson and I had a lot of fun fishing and catching.

From Asheville, North Carolina, take I-40 West to I-26 East to Exit 40 (Airport Road/Asheville Regional Airport), onto State Highway 280. Continue south 15.5 miles on 280 to Pisgah National Forest. A number of first-come, first-serve sites are offered during the winter only. Availability is extremely limited during peak season, weekends, and holidays. It is recommended that visitors reserve other sites ahead of time. |

Single campsites are limited to 2 vehicles per site and double campsites limited to 4 vehicles per site. Additional vehicles wishing to park at the site are subject to a $5.00 per vehicle fee. |

All campsites must be occupied the first night of a reservation. Any unoccupied site on the first night will be released for other users and reservations will be cancelled without opportunity for refund. |

Pets are allowed on-site and must be supervised for the duration of your stay. Dogs must be kept on-leash or contained for the duration of your stay. Dog fences are not allowed in the campground. |

Davidson River is located in black bear territory. Visitors are expected to keep all smellable items locked away inside a camper, vehicle, or provided bear box. Visitors who do not comply with this rule may be asked to vacate the facility due to an increased risk of public safety. |
