Hadn't visited since summer of 2018 so we loved seeing all the improvements! The 5 teens in our group LOVED using the new beach volleyball court and kicking a ball around on the freshly mowed grassy field. The new rot-proof picnic tables and new fire rings are great improvements. Washrooms were clean and campsites were all in great condition. We enjoyed the sounds of the creek night and day. We actually didn't leave the campground but chose to play in the creek, play games and lounge in our hammocks. In other years though, we've loved going to the trails at Joyce Kilmer Forest that are just down the road from Rattler Ford.

This spot is one of our favorites in the Smoky Mountains. The campground hosts were also incredibly friendly and welcoming.

My friends and I had a great time here! GPS location was accurate, plenty big for my group of 8, and bathrooms were functioning. The loss of one star was for the lack of response from recreation.gov/the ranger station when trying multiple times to contact and it is listed at riverfront, when you have to walk a little ways down there. Other than that— we had a great time and would love to be back.

My 5th grade class and I camp here each year. There is plenty of room for game playing in the field, a volley ball court with sand, clean but small restroom with one shower, and very close to the Joyce Kilmer Forest for a great hike.

Females Bathroom needs an overhaul...paint peeling, private stalls are not private , shower stall has clear undersized shower curtain .

Most of camp areas are mud piles....picnic tables are pathetic.....

70 bucks a night can stay at air BNB. We love the outdoors and love to camp...needs help....

Really nice campsite right next to creek. It has a great fire pit, steps down to the creek, ample parking, plenty of space for tents, and nice tables.

  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
